Four ways to find people to ride with

Your new cycling buddies are out there somewhere!

If you’re just starting out road cycling or you’ve moved to a new area, it might feel difficult to find a group to ride with. The good news is it’s quite simple to find a group. Here are some ideas:

  1. Go to your local bike shop and ask them if they have a group. Most bikes shops either know about group rides that you can participate in, or they host them themselves.

  2. Check out websites like Meetup - you can find groups of people with common interests there, so as long as people like to road cycle in your area there’s a good chance there’s a group.

  3. Try social networks. Have you searched Facebook for local riding groups? There’s a good chance there’s one in your area. If you happen to be in Umeå, Sweden, then give us at Sigr HQ a heads up on Instagram! 😎

  4. If you’re looking to join a race team, do a quick Google search to see if there are any registered teams in your locality.

We hope these tips help and we’re sure you’ll find a group in no time!
