Description
When we designed this jacket, we wanted something that would bridge the gap between on-bike performance and everyday practicality. It's basically a full featured waterproof and windproof cooler weather road cycling jacket with a very slightly looser fit around the torso that enables comfortable every day use even when out of the saddle.
It shares a lot of features with our more race-focussed 'Gotlandsleden Tour' jacket including flexible ventilation thanks to the upper back vent and side zipped slits which also enable reaching into your jersey back pockets if needed. It has a slightly extended back section with a silicon gripper hem for lower back coverage when in riding position and reflective details to add a bit of extra safety in lower light.
One of the jewels in the crown is the usage of Merino wool, much finer and softer than regular wool and with zero itch, this wonder of nature is insulating (even when wet), breathable, moisture wicking, uv-resistant, antibacterial/odour-resistant, washable and sustainable. Yes, it's almost unbelievable, but it's true.
This jacket has been tested by road cyclists from -5°C down to -12°C and kept them warm while cycling at a moderate pace. The ideal jacket when a pack jacket is too thin or there's a chance of rain.
Gotlandsleden is the road that circles the amazing Swedish island of Gotland in the Baltic sea. Stretching from Fårö in the north to Hoburg in the south, it will take you past countless cafés, bric-a-brack stalls (loppis in Swedish) and wonderful places to take a quick dip in the sea. The mediaeval city of Visby will transport you back in time, close your eyes and imagine you're Ragnar Lothbrok, just don't do anything he would do and you should be fine.
